Taylor Baseball 2006 season review
Taylor Baseball finished another successful summer playing in a National Championship game at the USABF World Series. The game marked the fourth time that Taylor has played in a national title game. The season ended with a final record of 52-14. The record extends Taylors consecutive 50+ win streak to an unmatched 8 years. The season was marked with some key injuries but the players stepped up to have an outstanding summer. The strength of the ballclub was the defense, due in large part to the hard work of 1st year infield coach Brad Ditter. Offensively, the club was led by Doug Cherry who set the Taylor record for hits in a season with 82. Bryce Anderson led the team in homeruns with 11 for the summer. On the mound, Tyler Rogstad finished the season with a perfect 10-0 record and Jeremy Zink was the leader of the staff going 9-3 versus the toughest opponents. Taylor finished the summer with 2 tournament championships, winning the Husky Firecracker for the 4th consecutive year and the Curt Daniels Invitational in Portland for the 3rd time is 4 years.
