Taylor wins Husky Firecracker Tournament

Taylor Baseball won 6 consecutive games en route to a tourney championship at the University of Washington over the 4th of July weekend. Taylor started with a comeback win over Baden 6-4, Tyler Rogstad earned the win in relief and Stephen Hagen drove in the GWRBI in the 7th. Next, Taylor got back to back homeruns by Hagen and Bryce Anderson in an 8-0 win over Chaffey. Jeremy Zink earned the win, tossing a 2 hitter. Keaton Hayenga threw another 2 hitter as Taylor beat Lakeside 3-1. On Monday, Kurt Haakenstad earned the win over the Skagit Sox 7-1, Bryce Anderson was 3-3 with 2 doubles and a homerun to pace the offense. Tuesday morning featured a gem by Brandon Cox only allowing one earned run in a 5-4 win over Team Arizona. Andrew Hutt earned the save and Hagen and Josh Rosser added homeruns.

Taylor stayed undefeated in the tourney with a 6-5 win over Lakeside in the Championship. Tyler Rogstad earned his 2nd win of the weekend throwing a complete game. Bryce Anderson added a solo homerun and was named tourney MVP. Stephen Wells had 2 hits on the gamed and Ryan Peterson had a 2 RBI double.
