2005 Connie Mack State Champions!!!!!

Taylor Baseball won their 6th consecutive tournament championship with a 6-3 win over the Shockers Baseball Club in the Connie Mack State Tournament. The Shockers forced a second game with a 7-5 win in the first one. Barrett Kanyer was the starter and Brandon Eagon received his first loss of the season in relief. Bret Bochsler was the winning pitcher in the Championship game allowing 2 runs in 5 innings of work. Jason Erickson pitched the final 2 innings for the save. Taylor scored single runs in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings to take a 4-0 lead. The Shockers scored 2 runs in the 6th inning to cut the lead 4-2. In the 7th, Alex Burg hit a 2 RBI single to extend the lead back to 4.

 

Ty Rasmussen went 2-4 on the game and Sean Rockey was 2-3 with a double and a RBI. Bochsler was named tournament MVP, Erickson was named Pitcher of the Tourney, and Cody Bartlett was named Defensive Player of the Tourney. Taylor now will prepare to go to San Diego on Aug.4th to play in the USABF World Series.

Next, Taylor will play Team Arizona at UW. Gametime will be Tuesday with the time TBA
