Taylor completes season sweep over Baden

Taylor Baseball swept a doubleheader versus Baden Baseball on Saturday morning. The 2 wins completed a season sweep over Baden with Taylor winning all 8 meetings between the two teams this summer. Tyler Rogstad ran his record to a perfect 8-0 in the first game, he threw 4 innings and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, struck out 5 and walked 1. Brandon Cox threw 2 solid innings in relief to hold the game and Josh Rosser threw a scoreless 7th to seal the win. Offensive highlights included back to back homeruns by Cody Bartlett and Ryan Anderson in the 4th. Matt Frazee added an RBI triple in the game that was won 8-4. In the second game, Troy Burki started and pitched 2 scoreless innings followed by Kurt Haakenstad going 2 innings and allowing 3 runs. Andrew Hutt pitched the next 2 innings and allowed 1 run. Jeremy Zink threw a 4 pitch 7th inning to preserve the win.

Stephen Wells was the show in the game going 3-4 with two 3-run homeruns and another RBI single to finish the game with 7 RBI's. Bartlett added another 2 run homerun to go with Bryce Andersons 2 run homerun. The final was 14-4. Taylor hit 6 homeruns in the double header and Wells fininshed the day 6-8, 2 HR, 2 doubles, a triple and 8 RBI's.
