Taylor wins Bandit Bash

Taylor Baseball posted 6 consecutive wins to take the Bandit Bash held in Tri-Cities June 16th - 19th. Taylor won the opener 15-6 against the Pasco Sundevils. Jeremy Zink was the winning pitcher. Offensive players of the game include Bret Bochsler who was 3-4 with a HR and 4RBI's, and Alex Burg who was 2-3 with a HR. Tyler Rogstad pitched a complete game shutout to lead
Taylor to a 16-0 win over Hermiston. Sean Rockey was 3-3 and Cody Bartlett hit a solo HR in the game. Game 3 featured Jason Erickson who battled against 6 unearned runs to win 11-7 over the host Bandits. Jake Rife was 3-4 and Burg was 2-4 with a HR in the game. Taylor then exploded for 5 homeruns against the Seattle Stars in a 14-10 win. Ty Rasmussen hit 2 HR and drove in 4 runs. Rockey, Bochsler, and Bret Wilcox also homered in the constest.

Kellen Kiilsgaard then pitched 5 strong innings against the Vancouver Cardinals in Game 5 and Andrew Hutt pitched the final 2 innings for the 6-5 win. Burg, Rasmussen and Doug Cherry all went 2-3 in the game. The Championship game featured Barrett Kanyer who pitched a complete game allowing 1 run on 5 hits. Rasmussen hit a 2 RBI single in the 3rd. Bochsler hit 2 doubles in the game. Kanyer was named pitcher of the tourney while Burg was named Tournament MVP.

The championship was Taylors second of the summer in their first two Tournaments.
