Taylor wins Bandit Bash with 7-0 record, 4th year in a row

Taylor Baseball won the Bandit Bash with two 10 run victories over the Capitol City Senators and the Columbia Basin Riverdawgs. The semi final score was 13-3 in 5 innings at La Pierre. Brooks Roy was the winning pitcher working 5 innings and allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits, he struck out 3 and walked 2. The offense continued to put pressure on the opposing pitcher scoring 2 runs in the 1st highlighted by doubles by Alex Sloan and Eric Peterson. Michael Bush led off the 3rd inning with a homerun to spark a 6 run inning. Taylor finished the game with a 5 run 5th inning on homeruns by Bush and Sloan and a walkoff double by Peterson. Steve Kirbach went 2-4, Peterson went 3-4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI, Kyle Conwell went 2-3 with 3 RBI and Sam Johnston went 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI.

In the Championship Taylor took on the Riverdawgs at Southridge HS. Casey Bohlmann was the winning pitcher in another 5 inning complete game effort. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, struck out 3 and walked 1. Again the offense started early with 2 first inning runs when Bush led off the game with a double and later scored on a groundball by Kirbach. Ryan Wiggins followed with a homerun to rightcenter. Taylor added 4 runs in the 4th highlighted by RBI singles by Kirbach and Peterson. In the 5th Taylor ended the game suddenly with a 2RBI single by Isaac Kim followed later by a Grand Slam to walk off by Kirbach. Bush finished the game 4-4 with 2 doubles, Kirbach went 2-4 with 6 RBI, Wiggins went 2-2 with a double and homerun and Kim finished the game 2-3 with 2 RBI.

Taylor finished the tourney scoring 99 runs and hitting 21 homeruns on the weekend.

As a team Taylor hit .475 and slugged .901 on the tournament.
