Taylor wins Brandy Pugh

Taylor Baseball became the only team to win the Brandy Pugh Memorial four times in the tournaments 29 year history. The 5-2 win in this years title game was Taylors fourth Pugh championship in the last six years. Taylor started playing in the summer classic in 2000. Tyler Rogstad was the winning pitcher while Brandon Eagon pitched 3 innings of scoreless relief for the save. Taylor scored in the 2nd with an RBI single to right field from Doug Cherry. In the 4th, Taylor scored on a sac fly from Jake Rife and then a two run homerun from Sean Rockey. Rockey along with Cody Bartlett and Alex Burg each hit doubles in their 2 hit efforts.

Tourney recap: Game 1 win over Baden Baseball 5-3, winning pitcher was Eagon, Stephen Wells was 2-3; Game 2 tie with Chaffey 3-3, Jeremy Zink pitched 5 scoreless innings and Wells had 2 RBI's; Game 3 win over Bankers Baseball 10-3, winning pitcher was Barrett Kanyer, Bret Bochsler 2-4 with a double and homerun; Game 4 win over Vancouver Cardinals 11-1, winning pitcher was Bochsler and Burg was 2-3 with a homerun; Game 5 win over Eastside Harley 5-4, winning pitcher was Tyler Freeman and Kellen Kiilsgaard had a 2 RBI double. Tournament MVP was Bret Bochsler. All Tournament team included Burg, Bartlett, and Wells.

Taylor travels to Portland this weekend for the Rose City Classic to be held at the University of Portland.
