Taylor wins Krusher Classic

Taylor Baseball opened their season with an impressive 7-0 run through the Krusher Classic tournament this last weekend. The tourney started with a 3-0 win over the BOS Bandits. Bret Bochsler struck out 12 in a complete game victory. Stephen Wells and Sean Rockey hit consecutive triples to lead the way offensively. Taylor then posted a 7-1 win over the Westside Bandits with Tyler Rogstad picking up the complete game win. Brett Wilcox led the way with 2 doubles in the game. Game 3 was a 13-7 win over Kent Bulldogs. Brandon Eagon got the win in relief of Andrew Hutt.

Jeremy Zink was then impressive with a 4-2 win over the Seattle Rainiers. Eagon then started and pitched a 5 inning, 13-0 win over White Rock. Taylor then saved its best play for the last day starting with a 5 inning perfect game from Jason Erickson in a 15-0 win over Bankers Baseball. Sean Rockey started the hit parade with a double in the second. Every player had at least one hit. The Championship game against the Seattle Stars was another 5 inning win. Tyler Freeman got the complete game win.The story was the continued offesive output in the 11-3 victory. Tyler Rasmussen had 3 hits including 2 doubles to earn tourney MVP honors. The game was highlighted by a 2-run blast by Alex Burg in the fourth. Taylor outscored their opponents 67-13 in the tournament.
