Taylor Baseball started the Curt Daniels Invitational with a 3-0 record Thursday and Friday in Portland. In the first game Taylor took on the Salem Dodgers and won 12-2 in 6 innings. Matt Gorman was the winning pitcher allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. Taylors offense was sparked by Alex Sloan who was 2-3 with 5 RBI. Alex hit a double in the 3rd and a 2 run homerun in the 4th. Kyle Conwell added a 2 run homerun in the 3rd and Michael Bush hit a 3 run homerun in the 6th to end the game.
In game 2, Taylor took on the RIPS Brewers and won a slugfest 13-11. Michael Curtis was the starter and battled through 3 innings. Max Dickinson pitched the final 4 innings to earn the win. The offense was again paced by Sloan who had 4 RBI. Eric Peterson hit a 2 run homerun in the 5th. Spencer Ofelt had 2 hits as did Nick Pizzuto and David Rosser.
The second game on Friday featured Bobby Jackson on the mound facing the Federal Way Buzz. Jackson pitched 5.1 innings to earn the win. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, struck out 5 and walked 2. Michael Bush had 2 hits and scored 3 runs. Aaron West and Justin Gunn had 2 hits a piece and BobbyJoe Tannehill hit a 2 run homerun in the 5th. |
